Maori and Pacific Outreach Programme
This year is the first year WEGC has been involved in this programme and we are the first girls' school to be involved. The co-ordinators who will be working with WEGC are Fa'afo'i Seiuli and Leah Taratu (photos from Victoria University website).
The Outreach Programme is a Victoria University initiative which goes out to the community promoting education among Maori and Pacific Island students. Its aim is to support students on their path to further education and helping them realise their potential through encouragement and support.
There will be weekly sessions on Wednesdays, at lunch during terms 1 and 2 and during the electives slot in term 3. Students opt in to the programme and if they attend 80% of the sessions they will be eligable for special activities.
