Accounting and Economics

 

 

Accounting is the study of the management of all aspects of the finances of various business organisations.  Students learn decision-making, processing and reporting skills that aid in financial decisions.  Economics is the study of people and resources.  Students develop an understanding of their role as a consumer and how economic decisions affect them and their communities.

Year 10 Economics Class Market Day

The annual Year 10 Economics market day was a huge success.  Most groups at least broke even, with some making a tidy profit each. 

In groups of around four the students had  to propose a product for the target market of WEGC that had 'value added'. 

Monetary Policy Challenge

A team of five Year 13 students were involved with the Monetary Policy Challenge.  Laura, Amelia, Jessica, Bethany and Avril decided what the Reserve Bank should do about the OCR.  Avril assumed the role of the Governor of the Reserve Bank.   More...
