The Integrated Studies course is a pilot programme designed to assist selected students in gaining NCEA Level 1 credits and the National Certificate in Employment skills. It is the equivalent of four subjects, replacing core subjects Maths, English and Science.  The class has two main teachers, Miss Koirala and Miss Newton.

Numeracy and literacy skills are learned through project work, with an emphasis on inquiry learning and the key competencies. ICT is a focus for teaching and learning and each student has their own netbook for classwork.

Students were nominated for the course at the end of Year 10.  It is a new initiative designed by WEGC after a consultation process in 2010 and it will help us cater to the learning needs of a wider range of students.
