The finalists in the school's prepared speech competition presented their carefully crafted creations to a select audience on Friday.

One of the judges announced it was the highest overall quality of entries that she has seen in years.  In the end, Bethany Miller of 961 was chosen as best junior speaker for her speech on the dangers of the humble hamburger and Rowena Woodhams of 1055 came second.  In the senior division, Danielle King won with a speech on East Pride and Anna Peacey and Jenna Bone came second and third respectively.
