Success for Waka AmaWEGC-2

A Wellington East crew of juniors won their race at the the Waka Ama Regatta held in Porirua on 15 March. The team consisting of Ngaere Hauiti-Parapara, Michelle Harris, Stevie-Lee Kaiawe-Topia, Acacia-Viva Omeri, Osheanya Kopa and Emily Rauhihi powered home to win. "The competetion was strong but all of our crews performed well," says Ameriai Kiriwera the teacher in charge of the Wellington East teams. The Regatta was in preparation for the Secondary National Championships to be held in Rotorua on 30 March - 3 April 2009. More
