The team of Year 13 Physics students that came second at the regional secondary schools' competition competed at Nationals this week.

They placed sixth, but were very competitive against bigger private schools that have been in the competition for years.  This is East's first try at it and the team have already offered to coach Year 12 students who want to compete next year.

 Julia Wells was selected to be in the NZ secondary schools physics team that will compete in Europe later in the year, but has declined the offer.
